The problem with you people is that you compare today's music with the golden gems from the last 3 or 4 decades. "Today's music is bad, go listen to queen" or some shit. Of course there could've been better music back in the day, but I'm sure that there is worthy competition around. Let's do something like "compare the current top list with the top list of 1982". A vast majority of hits over past 20 years were written by just TWO people: Lukasz Gottwald and Max Martin. The structure, tonality, dynamic range, and rhythm of this recent music have all been mathematically analyzed. Google this. If the music from before 2000 (more or less) was considered gourmet food, music after that is hot dogs that are made from vomited-up hot dogs that were originally made from road kill. And then this shit is mostly distributed in MP3 format which strips away 90% of the data. So the hot dogs made from vomited hot dogs made from roadkill is finally then boiled into a pink-brown slurry and served on the cafeteria floor.

Listen friend, it may be trash to you but others vibe with it. Whatever you consider "good music" took years to even be accepted and got slowly curated. Everything that was once super popular therefore trash we see now as important contributions. The Beetles were seen as pop trash when they started out, a lot of people hated them and believe it or not the hair was a really punk move at the time. So, just listen to whatever you like and stop shitting on people's preferences, it says more about you. People can't help what they like, scientists discovered a while back that our preferences are determined by our DNA, our taste in books, music, etc. (There's a nat geo documentary on the development of a human from conception to birth, it's about 4 hours long but you know, if you feel like checking it out). Have a good one and please stop comparing yourself to others, it's not helping anyone and you look like a total dick.
