Rửa sạch thịt bò, dùng dao cắt thịt thành các lát mỏng. Tiếp theo, dùng nước sôi chần qua rồi vớt thịt bò ra đĩa, mang ướp với 1 muỗng canh nước tương và 1 muỗng canh dầu hào.
Cho 1 muỗng cà phê bột năng hòa chung với 3 muỗng canh nước lọc trong chén. Hành tây bóc vỏ cắt múi cau nhỏ. Hành lá cắt nhỏ.
Dùng một chiếc chảo sạch bắc lên bếp, thêm vào 1 muỗng canh dầu ăn. Đợi dầu hơi nóng thì bỏ tỏi vào để xào cho thơm. Thêm 2 muỗng canh nước me, 1 chén nước lọc, 1 muỗng canh đường, 1 muỗng cà phê tiêu vào rồi tiến hành nấu sôi ở mức lửa nhỏ.
Khi phần nước sốt me sôi được từ 5-7 phút thì cho thêm chén nước bột năng vào và khuấy đều lên. Cho thịt bò, ớt, hành lá vào rồi đảo nhanh tay thì tắt bếp đi.
